Bringing the power of parkrun to the printed page.
parkrun has always challenged convention – right from the very first “Bushy Park Time Trial” back in 2004. Events have always been free, and are definitely not “races:” everyone is celebrated equally, whether they complete the course, volunteer or spectate. No one can come last and there’s no time limit.
A digital detox:
Producing a printed magazine – when so much of the world is digital – is our latest challenge to the norm. The printed page gives readers the chance to take a “time out” from screens and to consume each story at their own pace. We’re also committed to sustainability: for every magazine printed, we’ve made a promise to plant more trees than we use, via Active Giving.
parkrun magazine is not a “running magazine”. There are no reviews of expensive gadgets, no photoshopped body shapes and no articles offering to make you “better”. Instead, we’ve created an inclusive, representative, supportive and kind publication that reflects the community spirit you’ll find at parkrun events on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
